David interviewed on the Peter Levy show following BAE worker’s rally
David joined the worker’s rally against BAE job losses and bonuses, held at the Methodist Central Hall in central London.
Following the rally, David and Alan Johnson- MP for the neighbouring Hull West and Hessle constituency, were interviewed on BBC Radio Humberside’s Peter Levy Show.
David stated his belief that, although not enough had been done to fulfil BAE’s patriotic duties, matters were more positive than six months ago, with the company starting to take steps to mitigate local job losses.
He further praised the bravery of BAE Brough workers in the face of compulsory redundancy, saying that it made him “proud to be a Yorkshireman”.
Alan Johnson said that the fact that MPs from both of the main political parties were campaigning hard to save local jobs was a clear demonstration of the strength of local opposition to the running down of the Brough site, which was announced last autumn.
