David Davis congratulates first free school application in East Riding
In light of the announcement made to Mr Davis by Lord Nash at the Department for Education regarding the application for the first free school in East Riding, Mr Davis has said:
“The education minister has made a brilliant decision by deciding to proceed with the application for the Hunsley Primary free School – the first free school in the East Riding of Yorkshire.
The team behind the application have an excellent track record, clearly visible in the success of the South Hunsley Secondary School academy which received an “outstanding” rating from Ofsted. Their hard work and dedication to the education of the children in the area has paid off and I applaud them on their success.
I am sure the school, which is set to open in September 2015, will prove to be incredibly popular with local families.”
