David calls for ‘unpopular’ tax cuts to boost growth

David appeared on BBC News to discuss the need for tax cuts to boost the flagging British economy.

He said that although public spending cuts were necessary, they were not enough alone to restore the economy to health. What is required is deregulation and ‘unpopular’ cuts to capital gains, national insurance contributions and other taxes.

David went on to say that, given the long-term nature of the economy, the upcoming budget is the ‘last chance’ for the Chancellor to provide a major boost to growth.
